There are 42,000,000 rental units in the United States. That is 40% of all US households. Those homes are provided by Landlords to people who otherwise cannot or do not want to buy a home. The incentive to provide housing to someone not in your family is profit and financial security. That incentive, and all the rights enshrined in our laws designed to protect property ownership and contract rights are under unprecedented attack. This attack has been crystalized and put on full display (to anyone willing to look) during the covid19 pandemic. This October is when Landlords should stand up and be counted. Their voices and stories should be told so that stereotypes and memes do not formulate policy. As our sponsor and founder Jeremy Piper says, "Landlords are people too."
Share your story here. Tell us what you have done to ensure your tenant's family has a safe and quality home.
Give a shout out to your landlord. Tell the world why you love where you live. (if you are a "cancel rent" type save your comments for your elected official or your facebook echo-chamber.)
